The River Cruise

The QUT Orientation River Cruise on The Island Party Boat was SO much fun! We all met up at QUT to get our tickets. For $35 we were admitted on the cruise and were provided burgers and chips (known as fries back home). Drinks were on us, but not terribly priced. I paid $5 for a screwdriver (orange juice and vodka). I was expecting worse damage by the drinks. Any way, here's The Island Party Boat from the bridge (the Queesland State Library is behind the boat):

Here's our group, occupying a huge table, just before dinner:

There were tons of other QUT students aboard, all up and about, mingling, eating, drinking and dancing:

Here are some shots of my housemates and I:

Inge and Jim Bean (they are smart here in Australia: why not put the mixer (Coke) with the booze (Jim Bean) into a can and sell that?! Brilliant!):

We floated a ways down the river and saw Story Bridge! Mom, this photo is for you! By the way, I'm planning to check it out sometime, take photos and blog about its history. Here's the photo;

Me and Phil:

Neil had a couple beers, haha, they're not all his, but we had fun taking the photo any way (Neil is Ian's twin brother - Ian lives in the house, Neil and Rudy (roommates together across the bridge) visit here a lot):

Me and Richard:

Inge and Judith:

Me and some of the guys:

Here's a shot of Brisbane's city line at night:

A group shot, kindly taken by Inge, after the cruise and on our way to the after party at The Victory:

And on again to the next post: The Victory!

Looks like your having a blast (jealous). The pink dress is gorgeous btw. I don't know what the significance of Story Bridge is so you'll have to fill me in too. Great pictures, keep takin 'em.

love,
